Reverting Psoriasis
With a Buteyko Breathing Course
What is psoriasis?
Psoriasis is a chronic, non-contagious inflammatory skin disease characterized by recurring reddish patches covered with silvery-white scabs of dead skin.
Psoriasis causes skin cells to mature and replace old cells in less than a week, whereas normally this should happen every 28 to 30 days. Because the body can't shed old skin rapidly enough when new skin cells are rising to the surface every 7 days, raised patches of dead skin develop.
Cause of psoriasis
The cause of psoriasis is unknown, but research suggests that a malfunctioning immune-system triggers the inflammation of the skin and the other symptoms. Factors that increase the risk of developing psoriasis include:
- family history
- injury, illness, infection
- stress
- exposure to cold temperatures
- Medications
Revert psoriasis with a Buteyko Breathing course
Reverting psoriasis with a Buteyko Breathing course is generally a slow process which requires students to make a great improvement in their breathing. Results will show gradually and only after at least 1 to 2 months of strong advanced level Buteyko Breathing practice. Results are dependent on:
- Severity of symptoms
- Students' compliance to instructions and guidance
- Students' dedication and level of practice (basic, intermediate or advanced)
- Frequency of sessions for additional guidance
- Other factors (for example: age, general state of health, other diseases and activities)
Doing both modules (1 and 2) of our Buteyko Breathing course is highly recommended to bring your practice to a high enough level. Students should also keep in touch with us over the course of their practice for additional guidance.
